Katherine Anne PorterKatherine Anne Porter was born on May 15, 1890 in Indian Creek, Texas. Her mother died when she was two, and she was raised by her father and her paternal grandmother, who fake the role of Katherines mother. Her formal education consisted of convent schools and ended after a twelvemonth at the Thomas School in San Antonia when she was fifteen. A year later, only sixteen years old, Katherine ran away and married her first husband, magic Henry Koontz. Lasting nine years, this was the longest of her three marriages.
